Little MisSinterpreted

Whenever someone is being misunderstood, there’s always that confusion in understanding the whole context of the issue, which usually lead to a gap between two persons involved. Somehow, there’s that contributing factor why it happened, it could be that the other person feels sick, maybe there’s an existing problem at hand that he can not comprehend the whole situation in a much clearer thought.

With this, I doubt that nobody hasn’t ever experience misinterpretation in two sides of the situation at different times. And am pretty sure, if you’re accused of being the insensitive one , you wanted to shout out loud about the reality of that slipup. For the other side of the coin, there is that irreparable hurt caused against him. Both sides are contained to what they feel. But does it really matter at all, given the circumstance?

Allan and Christine has been dating for over a year and they’re pretty sure they wanted to spend their whole life with each other so they decided to get married, in two months. The couple has been busy since day 1 after engagement and now, it’s down to one week, their schedule is pretty hectic.

On that same week, Christine’s phone kept ringing while she was busy talking with the event planner and Allan picked up the phone since he was near to it. Before he handed down the phone to her fiance, he saw who the caller was.

Without saying a word, he handed the phone to her, “babe, someone’s calling you.”

“Thank you babe!” while Christine reached out to her phone from Allan.

Nobody knew, except Allan was he thinking about that time, his jealousy is manipulating him, by means of acting indifferently.

Three days have past, the couple decided to take a break from their busy schedule. They are going out for dinner, and Allan is on his way to pick- up Christine. The moment, Christine opened her door she exclaimed, “You look horrible Allan! Fix yourself up or I won’t go out with you,” saying this with a smile on her face.

Nobody knew what Christine meant when she said it, but to Allan it was an offensive remark coming from her fiance. So he replied, “then let’s cancel everything.”

Christine, who’s completely appalled, reacted hysterically and asked Allan, “what are you talking about?”

So they began to fight, forgetting their planned dinner.

What do you think have happened?

Will you blame Christine? Or Allan?

You can choose either side, there is no right or wrong answer because your interpretation depends on how you understand it. But I presumed, you know the what, why and how it happened, right?

The keyword?


You can not decipher nor unravel the secret code of other people’s thought when you only assume.


Not all of us are born with psychic powers.


That’s the only way you will be understood, the only way you can understand.

Communicate by listening, you’re serving a greater purpose amongst other things.

Closed Door Summer

The month of April- May are the official summer months in Asia, particularly in the Philippines. At this time of the year, beach resorts, hotels and villas near the beach are fully booked.

I remember my last summer with my family, we drove around my province for about 6 hours because we couldn’t find resorts with available rooms not even a cottage, because it’s booked up. After that 6 hours of driving around town, we finally reached a secluded farm land with a resort in the middle of it.

It has an infinity pool, a diving board, slides for kids and adult, wine bar, a water lily farm lying at the back of the resort, cottages in different sizes and rooms for overnight guests, and they got food for room or cottage delivery. Although we wasted 6 hours on the road, nevermind being hungry when you see nature with such beauty, it was worth it even if it’s not on the beach. That was a worthwhile summer and we did spent 3 days in that same resort.

Summer is made to enjoy on the sand, water and waves, but right now who would dare go out and enjoy the heat of the sun when we know it’s not advisable due to COVID. So this is basically a closed-door summer for most of us, and for the rest of us who are beach bums, you can find better things to do like:

  1. setting up a portable swimming pool (just make sure there’s no leaks,)
  2. gardening with sprinklers on (not a bad idea- taking a shower while gardening ๐Ÿ™‚ forget it, it’s better to take a shower at the bathroom)
  3. the activity doesn’t need to include water, you may try woodworking, blacksmith, uh those are heavy stuff, well you can try it if you have the tools;
  4. crochet, anyone?
  5. paper arts and stuffs like it
  6. why not try painting? who knows you may discover you’re good at it;
  7. interior designing starting with your house;
  8. how about creating crafts from your trash? Put into good use your plastic bottles, used clothing sitting on your cabinet for years.

You need not try all of those, just choose which one interests you, if it’s not on the list, am sure you can find your way around the internet. Staying home is the best way to fight Covid, you save your own, your family and your friends. Be thankful everyday that you still got your life. Summertime comes every year hence, think of this as part of your summer experiment.

All About You & Self-care

Most women, especially the married ones tend to focus one priority- family. She wakes up early to prepare breakfast, set the table before everyone else is ready to eat. And while waiting for the family members to wake up, she loads the laundry to the washing machine or hand wash the colored clothes while white clothes are soaked in bleached water and soap.

At 7am, everyone’s having breakfast the wife can’t sit and eat, instead she fills all the glasses with water, milk or juice for them. Fill the plates of her kids including her husband. Then she keeps reminding the husband to buy the ingredient for her new recipe; and telling kids to bring their assignments. Huh, that’s one good morning rush for everyone.

So, breakfast done, everyone’s left for work or school, while the wife stays at home. She’ll wash the dishes, clean the house, hang the laundry and so on.

This is a typical housewife, for working wife their life is a little more difficult because they have to tend their home, family and there’s work to attend to. Men would definitely admire that type of woman if he has her in his life.

Surely, you would say as a woman, you are contented for what you have. Okay let’s make an inventory of what you have:

  1. a loving, working husband;
  2. you got an ideal work;
  3. beautiful kid/s;
  4. a home and an adorable kitchen;
  5. why don’t we add a garden;
  6. what else could you ask for more?

How about self-care?
But what is self-care? Is it being and feeling pretty?

Personally, I would say it’s one of the few ways to care oneself and perhaps you might be guilty that you thought it is selfish to include yourself in your list of priorities. It is not! In fact it is a necessity.

Whether you’re a married woman or single, you need self-care. We know women who know how to take care of themselves, good for them. But there are other women who doesn’t because as I said, their focus is on one or two priorities only.

Based on experience, without self-care, you might be leading yourself to self-harm. You might need to rethink because, woman, you may lose everything you built for.

Contentment root from self-care and you may even be better at everything you do.

You may ask me, how to?

  1. Don’t be hard on yourself- you might want to put on a make up before you start your daily chore, who cares? Be beautiful;
  2. House chores are not enough for an exercise, roll that cd, or turn on your music, dance and shake off those hidden fats for 10-30 minutes a day;
  3. Or a yoga to meditate would be best;
  4. Start a hobby, if you don’t have any ask the internet and learn;
  5. Eat healthy food, veggies, fruits less sweets and don’t eat kid’s left-over, please no!
  6. Take a walk at the park before you pick- up your kids at school;
  7. Read 3-10 pages of a book you love every night;
  8. You still have in mind? Add it in this list.

Those are basically my own way to recreate myself as I have been in the dark for a long time, 2 decades have past and when I look at the mirror, I don’t recognise myself anymore. It wasn’t me, the smile on my face has faded, physical change is very enormous. I left myself on its own, disregarded what it needs most, care.

And now, I’ve learned recently the art of self-care- I’ve 17 songs in my playlist mostly fast beat songs and I just let my mind guide me on how I sway my body in a direction the music leads me to.

Apparently, I can see how it changes me and I am contented.

It’s not too late for you too. You gotta start now and be consistent, trust me you’ll love being confident.

This is the first time in my entire life that I woke up in a cold summer.

Cloudy, windy and chilly summer, I like it actually.

For a few months ago, Iโ€™ve been complaining of hot and humid weather, the kind of season makes me uncomfortable.


But, how long has it been for me since the last time I checked out my surroundings?


Ah, I never noticed since am so engulfed of my self imposed duress.

Work, studies, relationships, issues… Iโ€™ve never had the chance to take care of myself. Not since Iโ€™ve decided to be committed to all of those.


Until, I lost myself.








But this day made me realize something, I have to love myself


Looking outside of my window, I see those birds flying around like theyโ€™re happy that the rain have stopped. Seeing those dark clouds above them? I feel pity for those birds.

Sooner or later, their happy hours will end anytime when the rain comes.


I sighed heavily, those birds are just like me. The only difference is that, they appreciate momentary pleasure nature has given them.


I blast out a heavier sigh, exhaling out a great amount of air.

I feel pain inside my chest, I can be happy only if I start appreciating the life of me.

Loving oneself, is the greatest gift I can give to myself.


Only then, the pain will be gone.
